Noor Jehan (1926–2000), known as Malika-e-Tarannum (Queen of Melody), was a legendary playback singer and actress with a six-decade career. She recorded over 10,000 songs and was a symbol of national pride during the 1965 war. She mastered Hindustani classical music and excelled in ghazals and film songs. Her numerous accolades include 15 Nigar Awards and national honors including Pride of Performance, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, and Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
