★ Sabri Brothers  Biography

Sabri Brothers, led by Ghulam Farid Sabri (1930–1994) and his younger brother Maqbool Ahmed Sabri (1945–2011), were internationally acclaimed performers of Sufi Qawwali music. They were the first Qawwali artists to perform in the United States (Carnegie Hall, 1975) and were instrumental in bringing the genre to a global audience. Their greatest hits include “Bhar Do Jholi Meri Ya Muhammad” and “Tajdar-e-Haram”. They received the Pride of Performance award as a group in 1978.
