Raees Khan (1939–2017) was a celebrated Pakistani sitarist from the Mewat gharana, born into a distinguished family of musicians in British India. His musical training began at a very young age, and he spent his youth in Bombay. In 1986, he moved to Pakistan after marrying the singer Bilqees Khanum. He was a highly respected instrumentalist and was awarded the Pride of Performance in 2005 for his mastery of the sitar.
