★ Allan Fakir Biography
Allan Faqir (1932–2000) was a renowned Sindhi folk and Sufi singer from the Mangrachi tribe in rural Sindh. Known for his unique, ecstatic performance style and devotional Sufi dance-singing, he spent his formative years at the shrine of the Sufi mystic poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, which deeply influenced his music. He became widely known nationally after collaborating with Muhammad Ali Shehki on the patriotic song “Allah Allah Kar Bhayya”. In recognition of his significant contributions to folk music and culture, he was honoured with the Presidential Pride of Performance award in 1980.
