★ Bilqees Khanum Biography
Bilqees Khanum (1948–2022) was a renowned Pakistani singer celebrated for her evergreen songs and ghazals. She received her musical training from her maternal grandfather Inayat Ali Khan and Ustad Ashiq Ali Khan. After marrying the famous sitar player Ustad Raees Khan in the 1970s and moving to Karachi, she gained fame for singing poems by Parveen Shakir and hits like “Anokha Ladla”. She even performed voluntarily for the Pakistan Army during the 1965 War.
