Muhammad Tufail Niazi (1916–1990) is regarded as one of Pakistan’s greatest folk singers and holds the historical distinction of singing the first song ever aired on PTV (Pakistan Television). He received his initial music training from his family members, who were professional Pakhawajis, and other ustads. Before his musical break, he ran a milk shop in Lahore after migrating to Pakistan.
