Qari Obaid Ur Rehman was a renowned religious scholar and Khateeb (prayer leader) based in Rawalpindi. He became famous across the nation for his beautiful and correct recitation of the Holy Quran, which was often featured on PTV and radio broadcasts before presidential addresses during the era of General Ziaul Haq. He passed away in 2005.
