Aashiq Hussain Jutt was a talented Pakistani singer and composer who was active in the film industry and Punjabi folk music from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s. He gained significant fame for his rendition of the Sufi Dhamaal tune “Dama dam mast qalander-lal meri pat rakhio bala,” a song that remained a national favourite for over five decades and was re-recorded by various other prominent artists, including Noor Jehan and Runa Laila. His repertoire also included several other popular Punjabi folk songs like “Meinu Paar Laga Day Way Gharia”.
