★ Pathanay Khan Biography
Pathanay Khan (1926–2000), originally Ghulam Mohammad, was a legendary Seraiki folk singer who specialized in the Sufi poetry (kafis) of Khwaja Ghulam Farid and Shah Hussain. Known for his unique and soulful style, he began singing as a child and was discovered by the public after his mother’s death. He was known for his love for the poor and was awarded the Pride of Performance by the President of Pakistan in 1979. His kafi “Meda ishq vee toon” remains widely popular.
